This user protected site gathers information about the BASS-R, a simple to use speech sound screening tool for children between 2-6 years of age. The BASS-R can be completed by parents, caregivers, teachers and childcare providers.  

The BASS-R is currently being studied, and we need your help to determine how well it identifies children for referral to a speech language therapist. Your participation is entirely optional. The information gathered on this site is private and fully protected. The procedures have been approved by an Institutional Review Board (IRB).

Please note, participating children must be able to name simple pictures in English. Bilingual and multilingual children are welcome to participate.
